Vinyloop Ferrara SpA improves further competitiveness : it runs now the second generation of its mechanical recycling process for PVC. The basis remains the same: selective dissolution, filtration and precipitation of the PVC compound. The second generation, developed in the Solvay recycling laboratory, has been installed in Ferrara late 2004. The first batches were run begin of 2005, to the satisfaction of all.
Compared to the first generation process, the second generation offers a reduced steam consumption whereas the productivity of the line will increase by more than 15%.
This second generation process will be installed at Kobelco Vinyloop East, in construction in Japan.
Independently form the process generation leap, further improvements were brought: reinforced filtration, tight control of the granulometry, reduction of humidity content,… all elements that improve product quality and product acceptance by the customers.
