General description
Cable waste is the polymeric fraction left after the recovery of copper or aluminum from end-of-life cables or from failed productions.
The cable waste from metal recovery is in the form of 3 to 5 mm granules. It usually contains over 70% PVC compound depending on the kinds of cables: high/low voltage, telecommunicaiton cables…
The insoluble or secondary elements in cable waste are polyethylene, aluminum, copper, rubber and other elastomers.
Contribution to sustainable development
There are few recycling routes for such wastes which are either not sustainable (horse runways, since it is considered as a disquised land-filling) and or with limited applications. Vinyloop turns this post consumer waste into useful, long life items.
